Asia Cup 2023 Format: The Asia Cup 2023 will have six teams divided into two groups of three teams each. The five full members of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka, will take part in the tournament.
Nepal, which qualified by winning the 2023 ACC Men’s Premier Cup, will join them. Nepal will be making their debut in the Asia Cup, having qualified for the first time.

The tournament will follow a hybrid model, with Pakistan hosting four matches across two venues and Sri Lanka hosting the remaining nine matches. The group stage matches will be played from August 30 to September 5, with each team playing two matches against the other teams in their group.
The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super 4s stage, which will begin on September 6. The Super 4s stage will have each team playing three matches against the other teams in this stage. The teams that finish first and second in the Super 4s stage will compete in the final on September 17 in Colombo.

Sri Lanka and Pakistan are going to host the upcoming Asia Cup in 2023. It’s the First time in history that this tournament (Asia Cup) is hosted by two countries.
Pakistan was originally scheduled to host the entire tournament in 2020, but it was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Sri Lanka was then given the hosting rights for the rescheduled tournament in 2021, but it was again deferred to 2023 due to scheduling conflicts with other cricket events.
