IPL 2022 Auction Date, Live Broadcast, New Teams and Retained Players List

BCCI has decided to field 10 teams in IPL 2022, due to which recently BCCI is thinking of fielding 2 new teams Ahmedabad and Lucknow. There will be a total of 10 franchises in IPL 2022, which are Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Kolkata Knight Riders, Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals, Lucknow and Ahmedabad. For this auction, each team will have a salary cap of 90 crores.

According to the recently released Retention Player, the old 8 teams have retained their 27 players back. In which 19 Indian and 9 foreign players are included. At the same time, there are 4 uncapped players in this list, the old teams were allowed to keep a maximum of 4 players, which can have a maximum of 3 domestic and 2 foreign players.

IPL 2022 auction date: When and where will the auction be held?

Recently BCCI has announced the auction date of IPL 2022. The BCCI organise IPL 2022 Auction at Banglore on 12 February 2022 and 13 february 2022. The last mega auction was organized in 2018, which completed in 2 days. BCCI is going to get Omicron done in February instead of January due to the increasing case of new variant of Covid-19.

In IPL 2022, both the new teams were given the freedom to choose 3 players in their team. Whose last date was 25 December. Due to some problem with CVC Capital, the owner of the Ahmedabad franchise, the complete new one. However, it is expected that by the end of this month, both the teams will select 3-3 players in their squad.

Lucknow Franchise:

Lucknow is one of the 2 new teams of IPL 2022, which has been bought by Rajiv Goenka, the owner of RPSG Group. RPSG Group made a big bid of 7090 crores to acquire the franchise of Lucknow. The highest bid during the auction was done by RPSC Group who own the Franchaise.

Let us tell you that RPSG Group had earlier also bought Rising Pune Supergiants team for IPL 2016 and 2017. According to report, the Lucknow franchise is in talks with KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer. Who can be made captain in IPL 2022.

Ahmedabad Franchisee:

At the same time, CVC Capitals won the bid of Ahmedabad franchise in the auction. To get its franchise, CVC Capitals had made a hefty bid of Rs 5,625 crore.
