The main reason for the tough rules of gully cricket (Street cricket):
India being a highly populated country, there is not enough space for sports within the metros, cities and villages. In such a situation, all the children and young people do not miss them from playing in the narrow streets.
Because of playing in the streets, it was named Gully Cricket. This is the format of cricket itself but the rules are made according to the demand of the time.
The big reason for its interestingness and its strict rules is the people there. Often people either do not return the ball or come down to fight when the ball arrives in their homes.
In cities, such rules are made for the fear of breaking the glass of cars and windows and fear of the jagda caused by it. Due to which the batsman is forced to play in the limited space and if he goes outside the rule by mistake or in the process of hitting a six, he is out.

There are also restrictions on hitting sixes in some places, so that the fear of going out and causing damage to the ball ends.
I still remember my hostel days, my hostel was inside the school itself. In the absence of the warden, we used to play in the empty room of the school by making it a field.
Interesting ball of gully cricket, which we had to make after getting fed up:
Children do not stop playing cricket even when their balls are constantly being lost or forfeited. I remember when a neighbor of our barn (Open field) who started confiscation of our ball everyday, when ball enter in their property. We could not bring a new ball every day, so getting fed up, we gathered the garbage lying in the house and started making a good ball by weaving a wonderful thread on it and started playing with it.
So that our money can be saved and even if it is confiscated, it can play continuously without tension. We used to always carry the scraps of a ball with us. So that even after the ball is seized in the middle of the match, it can play by making a new ball.

I want to share with you many of my incidents related to street cricket, but I neither have the time nor the patience to read you to write them all, apart from this, if the story is too long, it also becomes boring. Reasons why street cricket is interesting:
Gully Cricket Toss:
The toss is done only with a two-rupee coin, but in case of no coin, it is done with pieces of flat stone, pot etc. It is recognized by wetting from one side of it.
Gully Cricket Wickets:
For the wicket, take 3 woods from a fence or garbage nearby and use it as a wicket. Sometimes stones are also taken instead of wickets.

Gully Cricket Bat:
This format of cricket has any type of bat. Apart from the bats available in the market, wooden bats made at home and by Khati are used.
Gully Cricket Ball:
Usually tennis or cosco or rubber balls are used. But many times, in the event of missing a lot of balls, its new form is also seen. In which a ball made of waste or scrap cloth is used.
Gully Cricket Ground:
This game is played in palaces, streets, parks and streets instead of the field.

Major Rules of Gully Cricket:
#1. Outside the field: If there is a park in the middle of the colony in the cities, then it is called out outside the park. And if playing in the street, then out for hitting any wall directly (without bounce or without hitting) on the wall.
#2. Speed of the Ball and Law of Bowling: The speed of the ball cannot be too fast. If the bowler bowls the ball with a swing of his hand and the pitch is sufficient for him, then how can he bowl?
#3. Catch out: In gully cricket this rule is generally the same as in international cricket. But sometimes a bounce (on a tip) is also declared out even if caught with one hand.
#4. Bold: Out on the wicket or on going through the middle (sometimes the distance between the wickets is more then the ball goes through the middle)
#5. Out on duck ball (do not play the ball): Out for 3 balls left in a row or out for 3 balls left in a Test match. It’s ok to drop 2 balls.
#6. Stump out: Like in international cricket, there is a stump out but in the absence of a wicketkeeper or when there is a wall behind, while playing with the back leg (meaning coming forward and moving forward) is also given out. Can play back and side.
#7. LBW: Mostly this rule does not happen in street cricket, if it does, then there is an updated version of it. In which while standing in front of the wicket, he gets out if he hits the leg (below the waist) anywhere.
