Before the IPL auction 2022, the BCCI had given all the teams the freedom to retain a maximum of 4 players. All 10 teams have released the list of retained players.
A total of 33 players were retained in all the 10 teams, out of which 8 old franchises retained 27 players while 2 new teams have picked up 6 players.

IPL auction 2022 Registered players list: 1214 players registered –
The BCCI had fixed January 20 as the last date for registration for the IPL auction 2022. Till the last date, a total of 1214 players have registered for IPL auction 2022. Out of which 896 Indian and 318 foreign players are included.
A total of 10 teams will participate in the auction for the 2-day long IPL Mega Auction 2022. The player’s list for Mega Auction 2022 includes 270 capped, 903 uncapped, and 41 associate players. IPL auction 2022 Detailed list of registered players:
- Capped Indian Players: 61 Players
- Capped International Players: 209 Players
- Associate Players: 41 Players
- Uncapped Indian players who were part of last IPL season: 143 players
- Uncapped International players who were part of last IPL season: 6 players
- and Uncapped Indian players: 692 players
- Uncapped International Players: 62 Players
Note: If each franchisee buys a maximum of 25 players, then there will be a purchase of 217 players, which can also include a maximum of 70 overseas players.
